Carlos Alvarez Montero



(b.1974) is a native of Mexico City. His work focuses on the relationship between appearance and the creation of identity. While completing his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, he developed projects such as the Harlem Shuffle, Covers (Adopt & Adapt) and Racial Profiling with Mex and the City. His work has been published in The Fader, Vice, Time Magazine, Newsweek, Harper’s Baazar México, etc. with exhibitions in New York, Paris and México.
