MPs recognise
Saddam Hussein’s Kurdish massacre as genocide
Parliament last
night recognised the murder of hundreds of thousands of Kurds at the hands of
the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein as genocide.
In a debate timed
to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the former dictator’s chemical gas
attacks on Halabja, MPs adopted a symbolic motion that called on governments to
join them in recognising the mass murder.
